Street Port Dual Exhaust System
1979-85 RX-7 12A
Our Racing Beat-designed, "Long Primary" Street Port Complete RX-7 Exhaust System is designed for any 1979-85 RX-7 with a 12A street-ported engine. Designed specifically to optimize the performance benefit of a ported rotary engine, this RX-7 exhaust system will provide the maximum power output possible from an aftermarket RX-7 exhaust system. While louder than the stock system, the dual resonated center section offers maximum exhaust gas flow and scavenging while reducing sound output to a modest level.
NEW Muffler Design!
The Power Pulse SP Main Muffler features a revised straight-through design for maximum exhaust gas flow! Dual inlet tubes enter the muffler canister and route directly to each outlet tube and tail tip. The SP muffler canister is manufactured using perforated stainless steel core tubing which is then wrapped with an initial layer of fine mesh steel wool. The wrapped core tubing is then surrounded with densely packed ceramic wool material to further moderate the exhaust tone of the rotary engine.
Offered as a packaged set, this kit consists of a Road Race Header, the Street Port Center Section, and a high flow stainless steel Power Pulse SP Main muffler.
The Long Primary system typically adds 5% or more horsepower over a standard Short Primary system on a street ported engine, especially at higher RPMs. This system can also be used on non-ported engines with good results. It is strictly bolt-on, with no welding required. These complete "bolt-on" systems come complete with all required mounting hardware and gaskets. Since this is intended for racing applications, there is no provision for an oxygen sensor on this system.
⚠️ IMPORTANT NOTICE REGARDING ROAD LICENSE:
This exhaust system does not have a parts certificate, a general operating permit (ABE), or an E-mark. The product is not approved for use on public roads within the scope of the German Road Traffic Licensing Regulations (StVZO).
Note regarding individual vehicle approval:
In individual cases, registration in the vehicle documents may be possible via individual vehicle approval in accordance with Section 21 of the StVZO. This is entirely at the discretion of the respective expert (e.g., TÜV, DEKRA) and generally requires additional tests (e.g., noise and emissions measurements), which are subject to a fee.
